Superposition VI is the Bay Area's largest all-women and non-binary hackathon. It was held virtually from June 17-19 with 280 attendees from 23 countries.

Our hackathons are open internationally to female and non-binary high school and college undergraduate students. Our goal is to empower our attendees to discover and develop their passion for technology through community and education. Thanks to our sponsors, our hackathons are completely free to attend!

WHAT'S A HACKATHON?

Hackathons are competitive coding events where teams have limited time to develop a solution to a real-world problem using technology. In teams of 4, students will work together to build a project and pitch their solution to a panel of judges for the chance to win awesome prizes. Overall, hackathons are here to provide a supportive environment with free food, mentors, and awesome activities to help you learn and succeed!

HOW MUCH DO I HAVE TO PAY?

This event is absolutely free to attend. Get ready for free swag, food, and lots of fun!

WHO CAN ATTEND?

This year, we're opening Superposition VI to hackathon enthusiasts worldwide! We only accept female-identifying and non-binary students in high school and college as attendees. However, we encourage people of all identities to support Superposition as a mentor, workshop leader, judge, speaker or ambassador!

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

HOW DO I FORM A TEAM?

We encourage people to work in teams of up to four. Additionally, there will be icebreakers in the beginning to help you find a team! You are not required to submit a hack, but there will be workshops and mentors on-hand to help you.

DO YOU HAVE A CODE OF CONDUCT?

Yes, we do! To ensure that Superposition VI is welcoming, all attendees, mentors, and volunteers are required to abide by our code of conduct.

HOW CAN I HELP?

Thank you for your interest in supporting Superposition! We're currently looking for more mentors, judges, workshop leaders, and Women in Tech panelists, which you can apply for here. DO I NEED PRIOR EXPERIENCE?

You need absolutely no prior experience to attend this hackathon. In fact, 77% of Superposition IV attendees had never attended a hackathon, and 35% had never programmed. We'll have plenty of workshops and mentors to help you out!

CAN I CONTINUE A PREVIOUS PROJECT?

To ensure fairness, we want all participants to start a project from scratch once they form a team at our event. Feel free to brainstorm ideas beforehand!

DO I HAVE TO STAY ONLINE THE ENTIRE TIME?

Not at all! You can work on your project at any time during the project submission period. Feel free to take breaks to grab a snack, spend time with your family, or just relax! Attendees are only expected to be at Opening and Closing Ceremony, but attendance at our workshops, Women in Tech panel, and networking sessions are highly encouraged.
